US Galaxy users' top app choices revealed by Samsung!

Mobile Apps

Hey everyone! For the first time, Samsung is giving us a peek into what Galaxy users in the US have been downloading from their own Galaxy Store. It's pretty interesting to see what folks have been up to on their phones between June and mid-August this year. I always find it fascinating to see these trends.

Leading the pack is Samsung TV Plus. It's no surprise, really, since it comes pre-installed on many Galaxy devices and offers a bunch of free, ad-supported content. It seems like people are really embracing these kinds of services. Right behind it, we've got Spotify, which makes sense given how many people are into music and podcasts. But what I found a bit surprising was Microsoft Outlook snagging the third spot. It tells you how people are relying on their phones, even for work!

A large chunk of the top downloads were entertainment apps. TikTok, Netflix, and SiriusXM all made the cut, which isn't shocking. We all need our downtime, right? Gaming also had a strong showing, with games like The Walking Dead: Survivors and Klondike Adventures proving pretty popular. And, interestingly enough, Perplexity, the AI search app, also squeezed into the top 10. I've been playing around with AI search myself, and I can see the appeal.

What's also cool is that Samsung plans to keep sharing these download lists seasonally. It'll be like getting regular snapshots of what Galaxy users are into. One thing to remember, though, is that this list only covers downloads from the Galaxy Store. It doesn't include anything people grabbed from the Google Play Store.
