Samsung's Unpacked Event: Expect Foldable Phones, Wearables and Software Innovations

Mobile Technology

Mark your calendars, tech enthusiasts! Samsung has officially set the date for its next Unpacked event: July 9, 2025. Following an initial leak that had tongues wagging, the Korean tech giant has confirmed that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 are ready for their grand unveiling. The event, scheduled for 10 AM ET/ 7 AM PT, will be broadcast live from New York City on Samsung's YouTube channel and website.

While the spotlight will undoubtedly shine on the latest generation of foldable marvels, Samsung has more than just bendable screens in store. For example, the highly anticipated Galaxy Watch 8 series is expected to make its debut, alongside a new, ruggedized offering: the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025. It seems Samsung is keen on catering to both the style-conscious and the adventure-seeking among us.

There had been whispers of an “Ultra” foldable joining the lineup, fueled by a cryptic teaser from Samsung itself. However, inside sources clarify that the “Ultra” moniker actually refers to significant enhancements within the Galaxy Z Fold 7, particularly its impressive slim design. So, don't expect a completely new foldable device just yet!

Interestingly, credible leaks have also pointed towards the potential arrival of the Galaxy S25 FE, the fourth member of the Galaxy S25 family. This phone would become known as the new most affordable option. Although its exact release timeline remains somewhat shrouded in mystery, Unpacked could serve as the ideal stage for its introduction. Then again, Samsung might prefer to give each of its devices its own moment to shine, potentially delaying the FE's launch to a later date.

Beyond the hardware, anticipate a deep dive into Samsung’s latest software innovations. The stable release of One UI 8 is heavily rumored, and the new foldables are expected to be the first Samsung devices to ship with Android 16 straight out of the box. It looks like they're making a big move to enhance the user experience with cutting-edge features.
