Pixel Watch 4: Leaked Renders Point to Side Charging Transformation

Mobile Technology

Okay, so I just saw some leaked images, and it looks like the Pixel Watch 4 might be getting a charging makeover. Instead of the usual flat-on-the-back charging we're used to, the renders suggest it'll be charging from the side.

Now, I know what you're thinking: "Why change something that isn't broken?" Well, maybe it's not about fixing something, but more about refining it. Perhaps Google wants to make the charging process more efficient or even more aesthetically pleasing. I mean, let's be honest, the current charging method isn't the most elegant thing in the world. It works, sure, but it's not exactly a design masterpiece.

However, I'm a bit skeptical. Side-mounted charging could potentially lead to some stability issues while the watch is juicing up. Think about it: if the charging connection isn't super strong, a slight bump could knock it off and interrupt the process. That's definitely something I'd be concerned about, especially if I'm trying to quickly top off the battery before heading out the door. It is important to say that this is just a render image - we don't have certainty if this is really true.

I reckon it could also free up some space on the back of the watch for other components, like enhanced sensors for health tracking, or potentially a bigger battery. Who knows? Maybe Google's got some tricks up their sleeve that we haven't even thought of yet.
