For a while now, there's been chatter about Google's custom-built Tensor chip. Recent whispers suggest the Tensor G5 in the Pixel 10 will be a ground-up redesign, crafted by Google and manufactured by TSMC using their 3nm process. This is a major departure from previous Tensor chips, which were inspired by Exynos and manufactured by Samsung.

Since shifting to Tensor with the Pixel 6, Google faced issues due to its Exynos dependence. Tensor processors are often slower, tend to overheat, have connectivity problems, and drain power quicker.
