OPPO Find X9 Pro: Is This the Best Phone of the Year?
I've been giving a lot of thought to what my ideal smartphone would actually be. I mean, what if I could just wave a magic wand and conjure the perfect device? Of course, a massive battery is a must – something like 7,500mAh should do the trick, especially with fast charging. I'm also thinking about some killer cameras, maybe a 200MP telephoto lens and 4K 120fps LOG recording because I'm really into videography.
But you know what's funny? Turns out, I'm not the only one dreaming up this kind of phone. It seems like OPPO has been reading my mind because the Find X9 Pro pretty much ticks all those boxes. I've been playing around with different phones this year, including the big hitters like the Galaxy S25 Ultra and the Pixel 10 Pro XL, but honestly, none of them have grabbed my attention quite like this one.
Why the Find X9 Pro?
For me, it really comes down to the camera system. It's got a 50MP main lens, an ultrawide, and that insane 200MP telephoto. The photos are just stunning. I mean, they're packed with detail, and the colors are just slightly boosted, which I personally love. The cool thing is that the color balance is consistent across all the lenses. That ultrawide manages to keep things sharp even at the edges, and that telephoto? It's a beast. You can zoom in like crazy without losing all the quality. For instance, I love to take pictures of birds and with that camera is a breeze!
OPPO even has this external lens you can buy separately for the X9 Pro that takes things to another level. It lets you zoom in at 10x, 20x, or even 40x. It's not something you'd use every day, but it's seriously impressive when you want to get those super close-up shots. Getting the lens attached is simple and quick.
But it’s not just the photos; the X9 Pro is great for video too. You can shoot in 4K at 120fps, and as I said, it even supports LOG recording, so you've got everything you need for some professional-grade video work. I can work the footage later in my computer, making it look exactly how I want!
Beyond the camera, the phone itself is impressive. The 7,500mAh battery easily gets me through a full day, sometimes even two. And despite the huge battery, it’s not any thicker than the Pixel 10 Pro XL. The display is a 120Hz LTPO panel, super bright, and the bezels are tiny. The speakers sound great too. Yes, it uses a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 instead of a Snapdragon, but honestly, it's still plenty fast. AI tasks are quick, and the phone stays cool, even when I'm gaming. What else can I ask?
I've definitely had my issues with ColorOS in the past. I felt like it was the weak link in OPPO's phones. However, I've come to appreciate it a lot more on the Find X9 Pro. The animations are smooth, and there are some cool customization options. Plus, there’s a feature called Mind Space that lets you save screenshots and plan trips with Google Gemini. The X9 Pro receives five years of Android OS updates and six years of security patches.
So, overall, the OPPO Find X9 Pro is an amazing phone. It's up there with the best like the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Pixel 10 Pro XL. It's got power, a fantastic camera, super-fast charging, and tons of storage. But here's the catch: it's not available in the US. However, it will be available for purchase in Europe.
The price? It's around €1,299, which isn't cheap. However, when you consider all the tech that OPPO has packed into this thing, I think it's worth it. Honestly, I think the OPPO Find X9 Pro could be my favorite phone this year, maybe even my next daily driver.
