OnePlus 15T Design Revealed: A Compact Powerhouse is Coming
After a whirlwind of rumors, OnePlus is finally giving us a peek at the OnePlus 15T. As someone who appreciates a phone that doesn't feel like a tablet, I'm particularly excited about this one.
OnePlus shared some official images, and I must say, it's looking sleek. The back is clean and flat, and the camera setup is more compact than I initially thought. It reminds me a bit of the OnePlus 13T, with that rounded square camera island in the top-left corner. It's a subtle design, but I think it works. The module holds two sensors and an LED flash, keeping things simple and efficient.
OnePlus is offering it in at least two colors: a green with a soft matte finish and a brown that’s a bit darker. I lean towards the green – it’s refreshing. But I can see the appeal of the understated brown for those who prefer something more classic. From what I can see, they both look pretty good.
One of the most interesting things to me is the size. The 6.32-inch flat OLED display makes the OnePlus 15T noticeably smaller than most flagship phones. With thinner bezels and rounded corners, it should feel comfortable to hold. As someone who often juggles a phone, keys, and a coffee, a more compact size is a big plus in my book. You know, sometimes bigger isn't always better.
Now, let's talk performance. Benchmarks suggest it will be using the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, paired with up to 16GB of RAM. It's expected to have a massive 7,500mAh battery. Yes, you read that right. A smaller phone with a bigger battery? It’s a welcome change. I'm curious to see how this translates to real-world usage.
And if that weren't enough, it's rumored to support 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and bypass charging. These are features I've come to expect in premium phones, and it's great to see them included here.
Even though it's smaller, it's packing some serious camera power, including a periscope telephoto camera with around 3.5x optical zoom. That's impressive, and it means you won't have to sacrifice image quality just because you're using a smaller phone.
OnePlus is taking durability seriously with IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings. This means it should withstand dust, water immersion, and even high-pressure water jets. Now, I don't plan on taking my phone for a swim, but it's good to know it can handle the occasional splash or drop.
OnePlus has only confirmed the design and colors for now, so I'm eagerly waiting for the full launch, likely in China later this month. That's when we'll get all the juicy details like pricing and availability.
