Older Galaxy Phones Finally Get Google Play System Updates, Newer Models Have to Wait
It seems some Samsung Galaxy users were left in the dust with outdated Google Play system updates. I can understand the frustration; you expect your phone to be up-to-date, especially with essential system components. Thankfully, it appears Samsung is rolling out some fixes.
According to reports from GalaxyClub and Reddit, some users are finally receiving newer updates. Many are seeing the November 2025 update, while one lucky user even jumped to the January 2026 release. It's good to know that Samsung is finally addressing this issue.
However, there's a catch. This update is primarily hitting older devices like the Galaxy S10, S20, and S21 series. So, if you're rocking a newer phone like the S23 or a recent foldable, you'll have to wait a bit longer. While it's great news for owners of older devices, it's still a bit disappointing for those with the latest and greatest.
Samsung stated that they temporarily halted Google Play system updates during new device launches and major One UI updates. The reason behind this decision wasn't explained. The company expects to resume these updates later this month. So, there's still hope for those with newer Galaxy devices!
