I've noticed a new trend emerging in the smartphone world: super-thin devices. It all started with Samsung, and then Apple jumped on the bandwagon. Now, it looks like Motorola wants in on the action too! They recently teased a new phone, the Moto X70 Air, and from what I can see, it's designed to compete directly with the likes of the Galaxy S25 Edge and the rumored iPhone Air.

The name itself suggests a focus on sleekness, and the teaser image confirms it. The phone appears incredibly thin, possibly in the 5.6mm to 5.8mm range, just like its competitors. I'm curious to see how they managed to pack all the necessary components into such a slim body.

From the teaser, I can tell that at least one color option will feature a matte green finish with orange accents around the camera rings. It's a pretty stylish look, in my opinion.

Motorola hasn't revealed much about the phone's specifications, but there's a good chance it'll be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Qualcomm has already mentioned Motorola as a partner for this chip, and it would make sense for them to include it in a flagship device like the X70 Air.

We don't have to wait too long for the full details. Motorola has announced that they'll be revealing the phone at the end of October. However, there's a catch: the Moto X70 Air will likely be exclusive to China initially. They've only teased the phone on Weibo, a popular social media platform in China, and haven't mentioned anything about a global release.

There's always a possibility that it could be released internationally later on, perhaps under the Edge series that Motorola uses in the US and other regions. But for now, that's just speculation.

It's not surprising to see Motorola join the thin phone trend, considering that Samsung and Apple are already involved. What I'm really interested in is seeing Motorola's approach. Will they simply slim down an existing design, or will they create something entirely new and unique, perhaps taking inspiration from the iPhone Air? Only time will tell.
