Massive Batteries Coming to Android Phones: 10,000mAh is the new normal!
Remember when we were excited about 5,000mAh batteries? Well, buckle up, because it looks like some Android phone makers are planning to take things to a whole new level. I'm hearing whispers about phones rocking 10,000mAh batteries, and possibly even larger!
According to a reliable source, Xiaomi might be developing a phone with a colossal 10,000mAh battery. And get this – it could support 100W wired charging. Imagine charging your phone from zero to full in about an hour! It's a game-changer for those of us who are always on the go.
More Brands Jumping on Board
But Xiaomi isn't the only one. I'm also hearing that realme or OnePlus could be working on a phone with a similar ~10,000mAh battery. What's interesting is that this battery is rumored to be a single-cell unit.
An unnamed manufacturer is apparently testing a phone with an even more mind-blowing 12,000mAh battery. If that isn't enough, they are also testing a prototype with 15,000mAh.
Even HONOR might be in the mix. It's been rumored that they're working on two phones with ~10,000mAh batteries. One might have a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 processor, while the other could sport a Snapdragon 7 series chipset. It looks like a fierce competition is about to begin.
These batteries will have to comply with regulations in markets like Europe and the US, which limit the maximum capacity of a single battery cell. Some manufacturers get around these restrictions by using dual-cell designs.
While many of these phones seem to be targeting the mid-range or budget segments, it's exciting to think about what this could mean for high-end phones in the future. I think that it's great.
