I Supercharged My Galaxy Watch: Here's How You Can Too
As a long-time Samsung user, I'm always looking for ways to make my devices work better together. One feature that I've found incredibly useful is Modes and Routines. Maybe you've heard of it, or maybe it's completely new to you, but trust me, if you own a Samsung phone and a Galaxy Watch, it's worth exploring. Think of it as a way to automate tasks and settings based on what you're doing.
Squeeze Extra Life from Your Galaxy Watch Battery
My Galaxy Watch 4 is getting old, and the battery life isn't what it once was. So, I use Modes and Routines to help extend its battery life. I created a specific mode that automatically enables power saving when I'm at my desk working. However, I've set it up so that this mode doesn't kick in when I'm exercising, sleeping, or driving. It's all about finding the right balance between functionality and battery efficiency.
It's pretty simple to set up. You just create a routine that activates power saving mode when you're connected to your desk's Wi-Fi network. And, of course, you can create other routines that disable power saving mode when you're doing something else.
Switching Watch Faces Automatically
If you have a lot of watch faces, why not use Modes and Routines to rotate through them automatically? For example, you could set up a routine that changes your watch face every hour, every day, or every week. I use a specific watch face when driving to easily see the information at a glance.
While the function to select multiple watch faces in one mode is still not available, experimenting with your watch faces in different modes is a great way to find out what works for you.
Stay Safe While Driving
I use the native Driving Mode on my Samsung phone, which automatically triggers when it connects to Android Auto. This makes the content on my watch screen more legible. Driving Mode also increases the volume of my phone so that I can clearly hear the ringtone above the car's noise. I also use this mode to initiate specific settings on my Galaxy Watch, such as disabling notifications, so I don't get distracted.
In my opinion, Modes and Routines is one of the best reasons to pair a Galaxy Watch with a Samsung smartphone. It gives you even more control over your devices and lets you customize your wearable experience to your liking. If you're looking for ways to get the most out of your Galaxy Watch and Samsung phone, I highly recommend giving it a try!
