iPhone 17 Pro Design Leak Hints at Return to Aluminum Build

Alright, so I've been digging around, and there's a buzz about the iPhone 17 Pro potentially ditching the titanium frame from the iPhone 15 Pro. According to whispers, Apple might be going back to an all-aluminum chassis. Now, I know what you're thinking: "Aluminum? Really?" After all the hype around titanium, it sounds like a step back, right? But hear me out.

A supposed leak, shared by Majin Bu, suggests that the next iPhone Pro could have a unibody aluminum design, including the camera bump. Instead of the glass back with a separate camera module like we've seen recently, this new design seems to integrate everything into a single piece of aluminum. There's also talk about a cutout on the rear for a glass section, possibly to accommodate wireless charging and show off the Apple logo.

If this leak is accurate, this means a big change in design, since Apple moved to titanium for the iPhone 15 Pro, touting it as a premium upgrade. However, if you remember, older iPhones used aluminum for the frame. For example, the iPhone SE and the standard iPhone 16 still use aluminum. So, it isn't like Apple has completely abandoned the material.

Why Aluminum?

There are a few reasons why Apple might consider this change. First off, aluminum is lighter than titanium.
