iPhone 17: Price Increase of $50 Predicted Across All Models
Hold on to your wallets, iPhone fans! We might be looking at a price increase for the iPhone 17 lineup. According to analyst Edison Lee from Jefferies, Apple could be adding $50 to the price tags of all iPhone 17 models when they launch in September.
This potential price bump would affect the whole range, including the standard iPhone 17, the rumored iPhone 17 Air (which is supposedly replacing the Plus model), and of course, the high-end iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. If you look at the current iPhone 16 models, they start at $799 for the base model and go all the way up to $1,199 for the Pro Max. So, a $50 increase across the board would definitely be noticeable.
Lee's prediction was part of a broader note that gave Apple's stock a "Hold" rating, highlighting strong iPhone sales in the second quarter of 2025. Apparently, US telecommunications companies saw a 22% year-on-year growth in equipment sales, which is the biggest jump they've seen in a while.
Now, it's worth remembering that this isn't the first time we've heard about potential price hikes. Back in May, The Wall Street Journal mentioned that Apple was considering raising prices for the iPhone 17. And, according to the report, it seems Apple doesn't want to blame any potential increase on those tariffs from China. Instead, the company hopes to justify the higher prices by packing the new iPhones with exciting new features and design changes. Only time will tell, but this could be an expensive year for Apple enthusiasts.
