Apple Updates and Rumors

iOS 26 Beta, Foldable iPhone, and AppleCare One: What You Need to Know

Mobile Tech

After what seemed like an eternity, Apple finally released the public betas of iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS Tahoe. This means you and I can now get our hands on these upcoming major updates before their official release in the fall. The most noticeable change? Apple's new Liquid Glass design.

Remember Jon Prosser? Earlier this year, he shared surprisingly accurate info about iOS 26. Well, it seems Apple took notice – and not in a good way. They've filed a lawsuit against Prosser and Michael Ramacciotti, alleging they conspired to swipe an Apple employee's iPhone passcode and snoop on details about the new operating system. Prosser, however, denies the charges, so the drama continues.

Now, let's talk foldable iPhones.

Foldable iPhone on the Horizon

Rumors are swirling that Apple's first foldable iPhone could sport a 7.8-inch inner display and a 5.5-inch outer display. The expected launch is late 2026, and Apple's apparently prioritizing a crease-free inner display. If they pull that off, it'll be a major win compared to existing foldables.

And what about device protection?

AppleCare One: Coverage for All Your Devices

Apple is rolling out a new AppleCare subscription bundle called AppleCare One. For $19.99 a month, you can cover up to three products with extended warranty and repair services. You can even add more devices for an extra fee. Plus, Theft and Loss coverage is now available for iPads and Apple Watches, a welcome addition.

What else is coming?

iPhone 17 Air: Battery Life and iPad Pro Camera Tweaks

Don't expect a huge battery in the upcoming iPhone 17 Air, as rumors suggest it'll be below 3,000 mAh. Thankfully, iOS 26's Adaptive Power Mode should help you squeeze out every last drop of power. On the iPad front, Apple might be adding two front-facing cameras to the next iPad Pro – one for portrait and one for landscape. Smart move, right?

It's an interesting mix of software updates, legal drama, and hardware rumors – all in a week's work for Apple.
