Galaxy Z Fold 7 Leaks: First Real-Life Images Appear Online
With the expected launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 quickly approaching, more leaks are popping up online. Recently, some real-life images surfaced, giving us a glimpse of the phone outside of digital renderings. I have to say, the new color looks pretty slick!
The images, shared by a leaker on X, show the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in a lighter blue shade compared to the Z Fold 6. This color, rumored to be called "Blue Shadow," might also be available for the Flip 7. It's always interesting to see how these color options translate from renders to real life.
The leaked images also highlight silver accents around the cameras, a detail that adds a touch of elegance. One thing I'm happy about is the absence of those Galaxy S25 Ultra-like accent rings that have been reported to peel off. Nobody wants their phone looking worn after just a few months!
Rumors have been swirling about a potential camera upgrade, with whispers of Samsung bumping up the primary camera to 200MP from the current 50MP. While the images don't confirm this, it's definitely something I'm keeping an eye on. A camera upgrade like that would be a major selling point.
One notable change in the design is the SIM tray's new location. It's been moved to the top edge of the phone, which is a bit of a departure from its previous placement. It's a small detail, but these little changes can sometimes have a big impact on usability. Beside the SIM tray, there's a speaker cutout that seems a bit off-center. Hopefully, this doesn't affect the sound quality.
The images don't give us a clear view of the displays, so we're still in the dark about whether Samsung will bring back the hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera, as some rumors suggest. The images don't allow to confirm how slim the new model will be. It's expected that Samsung will make the Fold 7 significantly thinner, measuring only 8.9mm when shut and 4.54mm when open.
With Samsung's Unpacked event on July 9th getting closer, I expect we'll learn more about the Fold 7 and other exciting products. I am anxious to see what Samsung has in store for us.
