Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra: Small Battery Upgrade, Same Charging Speed?
Samsung fans, listen up! While we're still buzzing from the latest foldable phones and smartwatches, the rumor mill is already churning about the next big thing: the Galaxy Tab S11 series. I know, I know, it feels like just yesterday we were drooling over the Tab S10. But tech moves fast, right?
It seems like Samsung might be streamlining its tablet lineup. The word on the street is that we'll only see two new flagship tablets this year: the standard Galaxy Tab S11 and the beefier Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.
Regarding the Ultra, I saw some leaked images that showcased a design that doesn't seem radically different from its predecessor, including that familiar notch on the display.
However, it seems that Samsung could be planning to give the battery a bit of a bump. A recent listing on Finland’s SGS Fimko website suggests the Tab S11 Ultra will pack an 11,600mAh battery. Now, before you get too excited, that's only a 400mAh increase over the previous model, which is about 3.5%. It's something, sure, but it won't be groundbreaking.
Furthermore, the listing says the Tab S11 Ultra will stick with 45W fast charging, the same as the last generation. In my opinion, it's a bummer that we aren't seeing a leap forward in charging speeds.
Of course, regulatory listings always hint at model numbers. The listing gave us identifiers like SM-X936B, SM-X936N, and SM-X930, which seem to point to 5G, Wi-Fi-only, and Korea-specific models, respectively, based on past trends.
I also heard whispers from Geekbench listings, take it with a grain of salt of course, suggesting the Tab S11 Ultra could be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset, an overclocked version of the Dimensity 9400. If true, that's some serious processing power.
As for other details, we're still waiting to see what Samsung has up its sleeve. I'm particularly curious about the camera setup, display enhancements, and software features. It's probably safe to assume that the vanilla Galaxy Tab S11 will launch alongside the Ultra, and maybe even a Tab S11 Lite. Only time will tell!
