It looks like Samsung might *finally* be listening to our storage woes! For years, I've been frustrated that even their flagship Galaxy phones, like the current S25, start with a measly 128GB of storage. In today's world of high-resolution photos, videos, and massive apps, that just doesn't cut it anymore.

However, a recent leak from a Finnish retailer suggests that the upcoming Galaxy S26 could be ditching the 128GB base model altogether. If this is correct, the base S26 will come with a much more reasonable 256GB of storage, with a 512GB option available as well.

It's important to remember that this is just a leak, and things can change. For example, Samsung could still decide to offer a 128GB version in some markets. However, a trusted source, Ice Universe, has also hinted at a 256GB starting point for the S26. So, I think there's a pretty good chance that the days of struggling to manage storage on a brand-new Galaxy phone are finally coming to an end.

According to the leak, the Galaxy S26 Plus will also be available in 256GB and 512GB versions. The top-of-the-line S26 Ultra, on the other hand, will reportedly come in 256GB, 512GB, and a massive 1TB configuration.

Color Options

As for colors, the retailer claims that all three S26 models will be offered in Black, White, Cobalt Violet, and Sky Blue. Another leaker, Evan Blass, previously mentioned that the Ultra might also come in Silver Shadow and Pink Gold. It's quite possible that these latter two colors will be exclusive to Samsung's online store. We'll have to wait and see!

I feel that moving away from 128GB is a necessity, especially if Samsung plans to push higher-quality video formats. With larger file sizes becoming the norm, even casual users can quickly fill up their storage. It's time for Samsung to catch up with the competition and offer storage options that meet the demands of modern smartphone users.
