One UI 8 Beta

Galaxy S25 Gets Bug Fixes with Sixth One UI 8 Beta Release

Mobile Software

Samsung's been hard at work ironing out the kinks in its upcoming One UI 8, based on Android 16, for the Galaxy S25. Less than two weeks after the fifth beta arrived, a sixth beta is now rolling out. And while I didn't see any groundbreaking new features, this update is all about stability and refining the user experience, which, let's be honest, is what we all really want from a beta program.

The update, a hefty 835MB, also includes Google's September 2025 security patch. It seems like the rollout is happening in waves. Word on the street (thanks to tipster Tarun Vats) is that it's live in the UK and Germany. Additionally, reports are coming in that users in India and Poland are also receiving the update. I imagine it'll be available in other regions soon, including the US and South Korea.

So, what's actually fixed? Well, several key improvements stand out. The most noticeable issue was the lock screen notifications that only showed partial information. That's resolved. They've also corrected font rendering problems and the "Now Bar" should now properly load logos for sports teams. If you're anything like me, you've probably experienced the frustration of your screen locking unexpectedly while using certain apps. Thankfully, this update aims to fix that too.

There is no mention to the inclusion of a feature called "Call Captions" that some users were expecting to see in this version.

Interestingly, while the Galaxy S25 is already on its sixth beta, other compatible devices like the Galaxy S24 have only received a single beta so far. I'm hoping Samsung pushes out updates to those devices in short time, so more users can test One UI 8.
