Asus CX14, CX15 Chromebook Plus unveiled with Google AI features
Asus has announced the release of its latest Chromebook models, the CX14 and CX15, including Chromebook Plus variants, designed to deliver a blend of affordability and functionality. These new laptops aim to cater to a wide range of users, from students to professionals, with a focus on durability, user-friendly design, and access to advanced Google AI capabilities.
Enhanced Features and Design
The CX15 series stands out with its larger 15.6-inch FHD display, boasting 300 nits of peak brightness and powered by an Intel Core 3 N355 CPU. Asus emphasizes the screen's wide viewing angles and an 87% screen-to-body ratio, promising a more immersive visual experience. The inclusion of a 180-degree hinge adds to the laptop's versatility, allowing users to adjust the screen to various angles for different usage scenarios. A touchscreen option further enhances usability.
A key highlight of the Chromebook Plus models is the integration of Google AI features. These tools are designed to boost both creativity and productivity, offering users a suite of intelligent assistance. Furthermore, Asus is providing a 12-month subscription to Google One AI Premium with the purchase of the Chromebook Plus, granting access to Gemini Advanced, 2TB of cloud storage, and other premium benefits. The video conferencing experience is also enhanced with AI-powered features that improve camera clarity and reduce background noise.
Durability and User-Friendly Maintenance
Asus is emphasizing the durability of the CX15 Chromebook Plus, which has been certified with the MIL-STD-810H US military-grade standard. This certification indicates that the laptop is capable of withstanding a degree of physical stress and environmental conditions. Additionally, the laptop features a redesigned bottom cover secured by four screws, allowing users to easily access internal components for maintenance or upgrades. The inclusion of an HDMI port enables easy connection to external monitors.
CX14 Chromebook Plus
The CX14 Chromebook Plus mirrors many of the features of the CX15, but with a slightly smaller 14-inch FHD display. It also includes the same integrated Google AI features. Both the base CX14 and CX15 Chromebooks offer FHD displays in their respective sizes, but it appears that the Google AI features are exclusive to the Chromebook Plus models.
Both models are available in a range of colors, including Quiet Blue, Fabric Blue, Pure Grey, Misty Grey, Misty Green, Cream Pink, and Rock Grey, with different finishes depending on the specific model. While Asus has not yet announced the exact pricing, the company has stated that the new Chromebooks and Chromebook Plus models are designed to be affordable.
