Apple's September Event: iPhone 17 Lineup and More Expected
Apple has officially marked September 9th on the calendar for its annual iPhone event, set to take place at Apple Park in Cupertino. This announcement confirms what many of us have been anticipating: the unveiling of the iPhone 17 lineup in just a couple of weeks.
The keynote is scheduled to kick off at 10 AM local time, and if you're like me and can't make it to Cupertino, you can catch the livestream on Apple's website, YouTube, and the Apple TV app. While Apple's keeping the specifics under wraps, the iPhone 17 series is practically guaranteed to be the star of the show. I'm personally most excited about the rumors surrounding the brand-new iPhone 17 Air, which is said to be Apple's thinnest and lightest iPhone to date.
Leaks suggest that the Air might replace the Plus variant, sporting a 6.6-inch display, Apple's own C1 modem, and a single-lens rear camera. The Pro models, on the other hand, are rumored to feature aluminum frames and a redesigned bar-style camera housing. Plus, we can expect A19-series chips across all models, and it looks like ProMotion displays are finally becoming standard for everyone.
However, it won't just be about iPhones. Apple tends to use its September event to refresh other hardware and provide updates on its ecosystem. So, we might also see new Apple Watch models, updated AirPods Pro, a new HomePod mini, or something completely unexpected. Who knows, right?
As usual, Apple will also announce release dates for its major software updates, including iOS 26. This timing aligns with Apple's usual pattern of unveiling new iPhone hardware at its September event, while also setting the stage for its fall software releases. It's a well-oiled machine at this point.
