Apple's 2025 Lineup: What new devices are expected?
Apple just wrapped up its big events, but that doesn't mean they're done for the year! I'm hearing whispers about some exciting new products still on the horizon. Let's dive into what we might see before the end of 2025.
Apple TV: A Chip Upgrade
The Apple TV is due for an update, as it hasn't been touched since 2022. Don't expect a radical redesign, though. The buzz is all about what's under the hood: a possible A17 Pro chip. This is the same chip that made its debut in the iPhone 15 Pro. Imagine that power in your home entertainment system!
If this happens, it could mean better performance and potentially new Apple Intelligence features to improve your viewing experience. We might also see a better Siri integration at some point in the future. I wonder if this will let it support higher-quality gaming titles.
There's also talk about Apple using its own N1 chip for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Plus, fingers crossed for a price drop! Competing with those affordable streaming sticks would be a smart move.
iPad Pro: More Power, More Cameras?
Next up, the iPad Pro. Leaks suggest we're getting an M5 chip, offering faster performance than the current M4. We're expecting 11-inch and 13-inch versions with a similar design.
One intriguing rumor? A second front-facing camera! This would be great for video calls in both portrait and landscape modes. I would be very happy if this is included.
Vision Pro and HomePod Mini: Internal Upgrades
The Vision Pro might also get an M5 chip upgrade. This refresh seems focused on internal improvements, with no major design changes expected. However, there may be a more comfortable head strap to help ease neck strain.
As for the HomePod mini, it’s been a while since its last update in 2020. Word on the street is that it’ll get an S10 chip and new color options. An S10 chip will provide faster performance for any underlying processing that the HomePod mini does
AirTag 2: Enhanced Tracking
The AirTag 2 is also rumored for an update. While the design might stay the same, we could see improved tracking capabilities and a more tamper-resistant design. This could mean it will be harder to remove the speaker, and they'll also be trackable from further distances.
MacBook Pro: A Staggered Launch?
Lastly, there's the MacBook Pro. It's possible Apple will announce a lower-cost model with an M5 chip, saving the M5 Pro and M5 Max for later. The launch timeline is still uncertain.
Will Apple hold another event this fall? It's possible, but not guaranteed. Many of these updates are internal, so press releases are also an option. It would be great to see a new Apple silicon chip unveiled at an event, though!
